Welcome to the Entrada community for UGME Student Affairs! We are the department responsible for any issues related to students in pre-clerkship and clerkship (Med 1 - 4).

If you have a concern regarding an academic, professional, career, or personal issue, our staff are happy to meet with you to discuss. We can provide advice or refer you to other services as needed. We operate with a "no wrong door" policy, so you are welcome to discuss anything with us. To schedule a meeting, please contact StudentAffairsMed@umanitoba.ca.

We are administratively separate from the main UGME office, and our communications with students are governed by a strict confidentiality policy. Anything you disclose to us is kept confidential. Without your consent, we cannot and will not disclose any information to anyone outside the Student Affairs department except where required by law.

If you are requesting an examination deferral, please download the deferral form from our Forms page, complete it, and send it to StudentAffairsMed@umanitoba.ca. Examination deferrals must be approved by Student Affairs.

If you are requesting an assignment extension, please download the assignment extension form found on the Forms page, complete it, and send it to StudentAffairsMed@umanitoba.ca. Assignment extensions must be approved by Student Affairs.

If you need medical documentation for an absence, leave, extension, or deferral, please download the "Guidelines for Illness Certificates" document from our Forms page and give it to your healthcare provider. Medical documentation must contain the information listed in checklist (outlined on the form) to be acceptable.
