Welcome to UGME Student Affairs’ Entrada community.

Student Affairs is a confidential resource that is dedicated to supporting students in their journeys toward academic, emotional and personal success.

Our caring, knowledgeable advisors are eager to assist both pre-clerkship and clerkship students in achieving their goals or will connect students with additional resources both on and off campus.

If you have a concern regarding an academic, professional, career, or personal issue, our staff are happy to meet with you to discuss. We can provide advice or refer you to other services as needed. We operate with a "no wrong door" policy, so you are welcome to discuss anything with us. To schedule a meeting, please contact StudentAffairsMed@umanitoba.ca.

We are administratively separate from the main UGME office, and our communications with students are governed by a strict confidentiality policy. Anything you disclose to us is kept confidential. Without your consent, we cannot and will not disclose any information to anyone outside the Student Affairs department except where required by law.

If you are requesting an examination deferral or assignment extension, please check out the instructions at our Forms page.

If you need medical documentation for an absence, leave, extension, or deferral, please download the "Guidelines for Illness Certificates" document from our Forms page and give it to your healthcare provider. Medical documentation must contain the information listed in the checklist (outlined on the form) to be acceptable.
