    CIP currently has one online course to complete. For this, you require a UM Learn account accessed using your UMNetID. You also require this account to complete your UofM Research Integrity Course.

Required Certifications

Certificates for the following courses must be submitted to the CIP office within 6 months of your CIP start date.

  1. Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS) 2: Course on Research Ethics (CORE)
    TCPS2: CORE is an on-line tutorial that reviews the issues related to the conduct of safe and ethical conduct of research with humans and animals. If you have already completed this tutorial but do not have a copy of your certificate, you should be able to log on and print another copy through the TCPS2 home page.

CIP Academic Curriculum

The entire CIP curriculum is comprised of one Orientation Event and one Academic Week (5 full days) plus 1-3 academic half-days per year. All curriculum sessions are designed to address all of the CanMEDs goals and objectives relating to becoming a clinician investigator.
