Welcome Preceptors!
Please follow these steps below.
- Activate UM email account - required for accessing all UM services. Have your staff ID# ready before clicking on the Claim Your Email page.
- No staff ID#? Email dfmfaculty@umanitoba.ca
- For technical issues, contact UM IT at 204-474-8600 or servicedesk@umanitoba.ca.
- PRO TIP: forward this to a personal email address so you're always up to date.
- Security Set Up for UM Email - UM uses a two-step system to verify the identity of online account users.
- If you're already using the Microsoft Entra MFA, you're halfway there!

- Accessibility - if you require accommodation support, contact Employee Wellness at UM.Accomodation@umanitoba.ca or 204-474-7195.
- As indicated in your Letter of Offer, everyone is required to complete Accessibility modules.
- Log in anytime on the UMLearn website using the UM email and password account you created above.
- Faculty are welcome to participate in the University's Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). More details in the Staff & Faculty Resources section.
- All UM faculty, staff, and students are encourage to take the Sexual Violence Awareness course, also available by logging in anytime on the UMLearn website using the UM email and password account you created above.
- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion resources are available inside the UM Intranet - have your UM email account & password ready then go to the Anti-Racism Resources page
- Use the UM email account & password you created and login to Entrada. Logging in provides individualized access to completing learner assessments and other info not available on this public page. Click "Log In" from the tool bar on the right. Check out these instructions specific to Preceptors!
- Have your UM email account & password ready and log into the UM's Sharepoint site to view their faculty onboarding information page where you can read about further available resources.
- Staff ID cards are required for entry to all campus buildings. Have your staff # ready:
- Go to the Staff ID portion of the UM website to complete the form and obtain your card
- Allow 2 - 3 weeks for processing and delivery
- Once you have your card, it must be activated on site at Physical Plant S013 Medical Services Building
- Monday - Friday 8:00-9:45, 10:00-12:00, 12:30-14:30, 14:45-16:00
- Refresh your knowledge on UM Policies
